This episode we saw the return of Connie. She had a cold reception from Charlie and some other members for the ED. Connie stated she was on a two week hiatus and then would be returning as Clinical Lead.
Sad scenes saw Dylan read out a letter from Mason’s Angela mom, it was revealed Mason had died from a pre existing heart condition. The post mortem didn’t blame the nature of the ED Dylan saw it as a contributing factor. Dylan returned to his Office and was obviously struggling with his emotions along with the rest of the ED including Jade (who’s birthday it was when Mason died) wondered if she’d ever be happy on her birthday again.
Meanwhile Ruby got a call from one of Violette’s boyfriend to say that she was over does and was barely breathing, Ruby instructed the male on what to do until she got there with Lev. She briefly gained consciousness however was critical upon arriving at the ED. As tempers reached boiling point between Ruby and her sister her condition worsened and after chatting with Jade about what life was like in Foster Care she decided she would look after Harmony, leading Violette to promise to seek help for her addiction
Dylan’s patient was a charismatic (and close to exclusion) school boy called Barney who’d been knocked over in the playground. He was bought in by in his headmaster. He tried to cheer up a ‘grumpy’ Dylan by dressing up as a superhero like he was. Dylan soon saved him after he ran away from his headmaster and stood still in the middle of the ED carpark after suffering an absence in the car park.
The episode concluded with Connie redeeming her position as clinical lead to help to help a struggling Dylan and be there for the ED. Connie also tried to mend bridges with Charlie without success.
