The BBC today announces that David Ames will be returning to the wards of the busy hospital as Dominic.

David Ames returns to play Dominic. Viewers last saw Dominic leave Holby City in shame after jeopardising the career of colleague and mentor Antoine Malick. The pair had a one-night stand but Antoine later rejected Dominic, causing him to lie under oath in order to exact revenge. His reappearance will raise a few eyebrows and he’ll have to work hard to regain his standing with his colleagues – only time will tell whether he can indeed be trusted.

Joe, Petra and Dominic will be joining some other new faces in the Holby City cast. Also recently joining the team are John Michie (Coronation Street, Taggart) and Louise Delamere (No Angels, Torchwood, Waterloo Road) who will play consultant neurosurgeon Guy Self and Holby’s new Director of Nursing, Colette Sheward.

Oliver Kent, Executive Producer of Holby City, says: “We have some great storylines coming up, and the arrival of Raf, Adele and Dominic will definitely shake things up at Holby City. These characters will be played by very talented actors and I know Holby fans – old and new – will warm to them instantly.”
