Tonight (April 14) saw the shock exit of Registrar General Surgeon Xavier Duval, played by Marcus Griffiths.

Xavier first appeared on the wards of Holby City on the 20th February 2018.

In tonight’s episode Xavier died after being knocked down by a bicycle, and knocked his head on the concrete curb. He was due to have a disciplinary hearing after attacking Cameron Dunn, but was postponed. Duval wanting the truth to come to light that Cameron left Evan Crowhurst to die last year, was on his way to the police with CCTV footage, but once again Cameron left another person to die, Xavier. He was pronounced dead by Max McGerry after a CT scan.

His heart was used for another patient, in which Jac Naylor and Nicky McKendrick successfully gave the patient a new lease of life.

We are going to miss Xavier Duval and wish Marcus Griffiths all the best for the future, and look forward to seeing him on screen again soon.

Holby City has now stopped airing for the time being due to the Covid-19. Watch Marcus Griffiths behind the scenes below.
