Straight into the action tonight, AAU is rather busy with patients everywhere and Ange trying to be in ten places at once, and the rest of the team and staff all trying to help as many patients as they can, various things being shouted across the ward to one another as they try to handle the volume of people on the ward.

It seems the nurse shortage is hitting Fletch hard, so hard in fact that Jac finds him asleep with his head on his desk in his office, rotas out in front of him along with his used tissues too from his cold. She complains to him about the lack of staff and he says he’ll stay despite the fact he’s just come off a night shift and clearly has a cold, but she doesn’t seem happy with him doing this because of the hours he’s already worked.

Dom tells Ben that he told Essie about their kiss, saying that he has a conscience. Ben isn’t pleased at all, saying who is Essie going to tell now, and that he doesn’t want people thinking he’s gay, saying that he’s not gay and Dom had no right to tell anyone. Looking panicked he rushes into the toilets and looks at himself in the mirror, whilst in there he sees that Max is ringing him, why is he so panicked?

With Nicky coming down to assist on the busy AAU ward, Xavier wastes no time in putting her alongside Cameron to keep an eye on him, not trusting the junior doctor at all, then later on when Cameron volunteers to lead a peptic ulcer operation which Ange says he can, he tells Nicky that she’s going in there with him, how will Dr Dunn deal with leading the surgery?
In the surgery Cameron gets flustered and when I bleed starts Nicky steps in, calmly she takes over and manages the sutures that he couldn’t, the look on his face when she does it with ease, you can tell he’s not happy in the slightest.

Still convinced that Cameron is hiding something and that something doesn’t add up to him, Xavier goes down to the basement and speaks to Jason, they talk about the incident a few weeks ago with himself and Cameron in the lift, after a bit of persuasion and reassurance Jason tells him that in not so many words the junior doctor didn’t do the procedure on the patient in the lift, but he himself did.

With the information he’s now got and knows he was right to think, Xavier outs Cameron in the middle of the AAU ward for the fact he didn’t do the lift procedure, that it was actually Jason who did. Faced with the evidence of what Xavier has found out and with the eyes of Ric, Ange and the rest of the staff team on him, his colleagues and friends on AAU, Cameron is forced to admit that yes Xavier is right and it was Jason who did it, not him. Will there be other things Xavier finds out?

Cameron tries to somehow explain himself to Ange about the incident with Xavier before, telling her he’s gutted about what happened. She tells him that she let him do things on his own since then and if anything would have happened in these times then she would have been responsible because she allowed him, thought him capable. Ange tells him that he should think himself lucky that there are lots going on at the moment, because otherwise she would have insisted that Ric took him to Max and from now on it’s Ms Goddard and not Ange, slamming the office door in his face.

In the last bit of action from this weeks episode, Cameron goes into Albie’s and sees Chloe sat at the bar reading a letter about and to do with Evan’s sister Phoebe, he had private life insurance and she’s the beneficiary, the insurance company want to reopen his care notes and look at his medical records, she tells Cameron they can do what they want, they want an interview with her and she says she’s not bothered because she’s nothing to hide. The look of horror comes over Cameron’s face as she walks away, Xavier looking at him from sitting at the end of the bar, will this reopening of Evan’s records and notes mean big big trouble for Cameron??
